Headin' back to the Blue Ridge, can't you hear the sound?

Apple Tree
Planted that tree when she was just three, and put down our own roots in this home
Years have gone by, laughed and we’ve cried, together how we all have grown
Please understand that saw in your hand is cutting down more than just wood
That sweet apple tree means more to me, oh reconsider if you could
It's worth more than dollars and cents, I hope you enjoy that damn fence
The apples not supposed to fall far from the tree
But we'll never know, you couldn't let it be
Limbs are hauled off, yard waste at the dump
I'm here just left with a stump
Your dirty hands sure need a rinse, I hope you enjoy that damn fence
Please understand that saw in your hand is cutting down more than just wood
That sweet apple tree means more to me, oh reconsider if you could
Some people they just have no sense, I hope you enjoy that damn fence
Planted that tree when she was just three
