Blue Ridge

Traded Spanish moss for kudzu, tidal creek for the Peaks view

And Lowcountry nights for a cool Blue Ridge morn

And that high lonesome sound called me home

Back to my roots I did roam

And though I love the coast and the saltwater there

Rolling hills, tobacco fields, red dirt I'll be there

Headin' back to the Blue Ridge, can't you hear the sound?

Headin' back to the Blue Ridge carry me back, I'm Virginia bound

Down by the James, lazy afternoon

Jump off the dam think I'll do it again

Seven hill city another starry night, up to Bald Mountain where we'd watch the lights

This town has changed it's plain to see, then again, I'm not the boy I used to be

Down by the river and we throw a line

Don't catch nothing but it's still no waste of time

Jump off the rope swing but where did it go, I need a cheesey and bowl to soothe my soul

This town has changed it's plain to see, then again, I'm not the boy I used to be

It's a clear day let's head outdoors

Grab a cooler and pack it with a few extra more

Clean mountain air and a southern breeze I like green grass and good company

This town has changed it's plain to see, then again, I'm not the boy I used to be

Headin' back to the Blue Ridge, can't you hear the sound?

Headin' back to the Blue Ridge carry me back, I'm Virginia bound
